Our second appointment was after my 9 week mark and so we knew that we would definitely be able to see our baby during this appointment. Nic and I were extremely nervous for this appointment because we knew it would be very important in seeing how our little baby was doing. I couldn't even look at the ultrasound until the doctor found the baby. The doctor said "Well there sure is a baby in there!" I just started crying and couldn't believe it. I was trying to watch the ultrasound but it was hard since I couldn't stop crying. Nic told me all about the baby once we left. He said the baby was moving all around and the arms and legs (which both looks like numbs) were just a moving around. He said it was just such a crazy sight to see! The doctor was very reassuring in that everything looked great. The chest of the baby was moving (for the heartbeat) and since the baby was moving around so much he felt like everything seemed to be going fine. Nic and I were very relieved as we left this appointment in knowing that everything was going to be OK and that we just need to trust God through all of this. Below is a picture of our baby measuring at 9 weeks 5 days!

Telling our Parents
So, the day after we had our first visit to the doctor, Nic and I were spending the day in Savannah with both sets of our parents along with my sister. We had decided that since everyone was together we were going to tell them but just had to decide how. Nic's birthday was only two days away so we figured I would give him some sort of present that would tell our parents. I am a big fan of tervis tumblers so we went and bought a tumbler that said "World's Best Dad" and I was going to give it to Nic some point during our trip. After tons of walking around, we all found a table and chairs at a park in downtown Savannah. I asked Nic if he wanted one of his birthday presents and of course he did. Once he opened the cup, he turned it around and both of our mom's jumped up and started screaming! It was a good thing we told them in a public place. haha! Everyone was very excited and just couldn't believe the news! Here is a picture of Nic and I with the cup!
Our First Appointment
Our first appointment to see the doctor was on March 25th. We were both very nervous but couldn't wait to see what the doctor said and to see how our little bean was doing. For our first appointment, I was about 7 weeks along and the doctor said the baby was doing great. He could see a flicker which was the heartbeat which was very encouraging for Nic and I. Although you can't tell too much from this picture, it was enough to make us happy during our visit! Attached is our first ultrasound picture!
We're Having a Baby!!!!!
On March 7th, Nic and I found out that we were going to have a baby! We were completely shocked and were so excited!! I think I took about 3 pregnancy tests that day just to make sure! We have been waiting for this day to come for so long and knew God would bless us with a child when it was in his timing. Nic and I can't wait to see what the next 9 months hold for us as we prepare to be parents for the first time.
